DCA has been operating for 12 years providing maritime consultancy advice with special emphasis on harbour towage and pilotage competition issues including compiling and/or responding to "for the port", port services tenders; evaluation of the best type of tug for the port being reviewed including advice on the various tug type capabilities and limitations; maritime incident expert witness, benchmarking and port related marine services.
DCA has two directors of the company Dale Cole the founding principal and Roger Ward.
Dale Cole
- Master Class 1 including seven years as Master.
- Licensed Adjustor of Compasses.
- Eleven years as a port pilot, harbour master and marine surveyor.
- Four years as a tug master.
- Six years as Group General Manager Marine Pacific Limited.
- Four years as Chief Executive of Howard Smith’s Australian Towage and Salvage Operations.
- Executive chairman National Bulk Commodities Group.
- Member of Australian Maritime Safety Authority Advisory Committee.
Roger Ward
- Master Class 1 including eighteen years as Master.
- Master of Business Administration.
- Diploma of Business (Accounting).
- Certificate in Risk Management (IRM London)
- Qualified Internal Auditor.
- Director of National Industry Superannuation Fund.
- Extensive experience as Tugmaster on most types of tugs including training, checking and new builds.
- Four years as Marine Manager Howard Smith Tug and Salvage.
